Ventura Air Duct Cleaning
Most
people are not very aware of how dirty the ducts of their heating and
air conditioning systems can actually get, let alone what to look for
in a company that will come in and perform the cleaning service for
them.
Dust, dirt, dead bugs and lord knows
what else build up in your duct work over time and along with the
changes in climate and levels of humidity; this can cause mold and
mildew to form in the ducts of your system. This is important to take
care of, but what should you look for in an air duct cleaning service
to know that you are getting the best company for the job.

Air Duct Cleaning
power vacuum cuts to the heart of your homes heating and cooling
system. Our skilled technicians attach the big vacuum hose directly to
your air ducts at the core of your heating and cooling system. The
other companies use smaller equipment that cannot and does not clean as
well.
Duct Cleaning
cleans the whole system. Vacuum by itself is not enough to do the job.
High pressure agitation devices are inserted into each duct to loosen
and lift debris into the vacuum stream for removal. Our technicians
also have specialized brushes to clean any size or shape duct.
The cleaning tools travel the full length of every duct to blast loose
debris. Some companies only clean what you can see. Others actually
seal the dirt so it stays forever.
The main duct work lines are also cleaned, even if they are hidden in the walls or the ceiling.
This is where a lot of dirt hides and most companies don't have the tools to clean them.
What to Expect From Our Trained Air Duct Cleaning Technicians:
- Open access ports or doors to allow the entire system to be cleaned and inspected.
- Inspect the system before cleaning to be sure that there are no asbestos-containing materials
(Asbestos-containing materials require Asbestos Removal and specialized procedures and should not be disturbed.)
- Use
vacuum equipment that exhausts particles outside of the home or use
only high-efficiency particle air (HEPA) vacuuming equipment if the
vacuum exhausts inside the home.
- Protect carpet and household furnishings during cleaning.
- Use well-controlled brushing of duct surfaces in conjunction with contact vacuum cleaning to dislodge dust and other particles.
- Use only soft-bristled brushes for fiberglass duct board and sheet metal ducts internally lined with fiberglass.
(Although flex duct can also be cleaned using soft-bristled brushes, it
can be more economical to simply replace accessible flex duct.)
- Take
care to protect the duct work, including sealing and re-insulating any
access holes the service provider may have made or used so they are
airtight.
How to Prevent Duct Contamination
Whether or not you decide to have the air ducts in your home cleaned,
committing to a good preventive maintenance program is essential to
minimize duct contamination.
- Use the highest efficiency air filter recommended by the manufacturer of your heating and cooling system.
- Change filters regularly.
- If your filters become clogged, change them more frequently.
- Be sure you do not have any missing filters and that air cannot bypass filters through gaps around the filter holder.
- When
having your heating and cooling system maintained or checked for other
reasons, be sure to ask the service provider to clean cooling coils and
drain pans.
- During construction or renovation work that
produces dust in your home, seal off supply and return registers and do
not operate the heating and cooling system until after cleaning up the
dust.
- Remove dust and vacuum your home regularly. (Use a
high efficiency vacuum (HEPA) cleaner or the highest efficiency filter
bags your vacuum cleaner can take. Vacuuming can increase the amount of
dust in the air during and after vacuuming as well as in your ducts).
- If
your heating system includes in-duct humidification equipment, be sure
to operate and maintain the humidifier strictly as recommended by the
manufacturer.
- Air Sweep Duct Cleaning
– Our technicians go to each branch line and use a tool called an
air-wand. The air-wand uses compressed air to push all the debris down
to the main trunk lines, where there is a high vacuum hose inserted to
remove all debris into our van-mounted equipment. Once the technician
has completed the initial air sweep, he will use an item called an
air-snake with a reverse nozzle and insert it into the trunk line,
pulling any remaining dust and debris back to the vacuum. We clean all
return lines and supply lines within your household. This service also
includes a free furnace cleaning, as well as reduced rates on many of
our other services.
- Air Exchanger Cleaning
– We clean the filter, exchanger, blower components and draft
compartment, cleaning all airflow passages. (Manufacturers recommend a
yearly inspection).
- Oxine Application
– Germicide fog is applied to the ducts to sanitize and destroy all
bacteria, mites, fungi, mold, mildew, and allergens in the ductwork.
This service is recommended for those with allergies and/or asthma,
other chronic illnesses, or sensitivity to pet dander and other indoor
air pollutants. Indoor Air Care Duct Cleaning uses Oxine, an
EPA-approved biocide with low toxicity that does not leave an active
chemical residue after treatment.
We
guarantee you that all our technicians are experienced air duct
cleaners. Our vacuuming equipment will exhaust all the dirt particles
outside of your home. We use procedures that protect householders and
pets from contamination.
